Artist Statement
My paintings come to life through the dance of colors and the alchemy of chance. Each canvas is a unique journey into the unknown and cannot be replicated. In yielding control to the forces of nature, I discover a profound connection between chaos and beauty. I strive to capture the intangible, to express the unspoken, and to awaken the imagination.
Biography
Dylan Z Harris is a Baltimore-based artist who has been making art for most of his life. He was originally inspired and taught by his grandmother Idy Harris. He graduated from the Waldorf School of Baltimore where he gained further interest in all types of creative expression and a connection to nature and mythology. These are things that greatly influence his work. Throughout his school career, he took as many art classes as possible and later attended Stevenson University for graphic design. He is a Type 1 Diabetic and has struggled with several learning disabilities leading him to have a unique perspective on life. Through his art, he likes to push the idea of looking past the obvious and seeing things from a more alien and cosmic perspective. With his abstract art, he is both the initiator and the observer controlling paint but also surrendering to the forces of physics and chemistry. He is passionate about sharing his unique vision with the world.
