Monument Sotheby’s International Realty Announces Record Year and Continued Growth

Baltimore, Maryland, January 22, 2021– Monument Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that the brokerage had a record year in 2020. The company ended the year with a $780 million sales volume, exceeding all previous sales records. 2020 was a year of resilience, innovation, and change in the real estate industry. During a year when many homebuyers and sellers re-evaluated their housing needs due to Covid-19, Monument Sotheby’s International Realty’s agents navigated through uncertainty. They prioritized health and safety and led our industry in innovation and virtual solutions, all while delivering unparalleled service.

In addition to growing their market share, the company further expanded its office footprint in the Greater Baltimore Region and announced plans to open a flagship office in the iconic and soon to be revitalized Village at Cross Keys.

“Considering where we were as a country, a community and a company in the early part of the COVID-19 crisis this year, we could not be more pleased with each of our agents and their focus on service to clients in 2020,” said Charlie Hatter co-owner of Monument Sotheby’s International Realty. “Our talented group of experienced agents, all of whom have deep roots in the communities they serve, rose to the occasion and closed more transactions and more transaction volume than any year in our history. The addition of our new Cross Keys headquarters will allow us to continue this momentum and accommodate new agents who are seeking to elevate their business with the Sotheby’s International Realty brand.” added Hatter.

While other local brokerage shuttered offices, Monument Sotheby’s International Realty opened two new offices in 2020, one at 12143 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, Maryland to expand the company’s services into Howard County, and the other at 2229 Fleet Street, Baltimore to better cover the emerging downtown neighborhoods of Canton and Fells Point. The firm’s expanded footprint now boasts six offices that run from southern Anne Arundel County, to Howard County in the west and through Baltimore City and Baltimore County in the north.

“We are incredibly proud of our offices and believe that top real estate professionals and clients will return to our clean, bright, business environments that speak to our brand heritage,” said Shawn Evans, co-owner of Monument Sotheby’s International Realty. “Our marquis offices double as community art galleries, displaying the work of some of the finest local artists. 2020 brought significant changes, however, our priority has always been to increase our agent’s productivity and the innovative services they provide to clients through pioneering tools, resources, and experienced management,” added Evans.

Monument Sotheby’s International Realty plans to open its new flagship office in the Village at Cross Keys in the second quarter of 2020. The company was identified in the early stages of the revitalization efforts by the developer, Caves Valley Partners, to be one of its key tenants. “There is simply no better brand in real estate than Sotheby’s International Realty, remarked Arsh Miriman, partner at Caves Valley Partners. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Monument Sotheby’s International Realty, and create a dynamic, convenient, multi-functional indoor-outdoor space for their agents and clients to meet,” added Miriman.

The new two-story space will serve as the company’s business headquarters, and will be the new home for dozens of agents serving the surrounding neighborhoods. The new Cross Keys office will replace the company’s current office at 4800 Roland Avenue.
