Shukri Kha I Monument Sotheby’s International Realty I Art Gallery Event
July 14 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
I work as a self-taught fine artist from my home studio located in Baltimore. I began painting about three to four years ago after raising my kids. I love to paint nature. Growing up, I really enjoyed the morning walks with my grandfather. Perhaps it was these walks on the bridge in my hometown Rabwah and later Rose Garden in Islamabad, Pakistan, which helped me learn to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature.
Painting opened the door to endless possibilities for me. It brings me joy and the ability to communicate to the world my thoughts and feelings. I’ve tried to express myself using different styles and mediums. Intuition is a great part of my creative process. I use art to express profound emotions along with my unique experiences in life. Being detail-oriented, often it’s not easy for me to call a piece done. And I might come back to the piece months later. My subjects include florals, still life, landscapes, and waterscapes. The mediums I enjoy are oils, acrylics, and sometimes watercolors.
Nature leaves me in awe of the Almighty Creator. If you are outdoors and find someone walking by totally lost in their surroundings smiling at the skies and smelling the flowers or maybe weirdly following the moon even though they are not a kid anymore (and actually have grown kids of their own), you’ve probably found me. And yes that was me climbing up that mud rock to get a great sunset shot.
